1. What are the clinic’s opening hours?
Forestville Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Centre is open from 7:30am to 7:30pm Monday to Friday and from 7:30am – 12:30pm on Saturday.

2. Do I need a referral for physiotherapy?
No, you do not need a referral for physiotherapy if claiming personally or with your private health cover.  If you are claiming via Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), Work Cover or have an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan, you are required to bring in your Doctor’s Referral at the time of initial consultation. We believe in excellent communication between the treating physiotherapist and doctor.

3. How long are the appointments?
To provide optimum care, our standard appointments are scheduled for a minimum of 30 minutes. However, please allow up to an hour for your initial consultation. Longer times can be arranged for more complex conditions or multiple injuries.

4. What should I bring to the initial assessment?
Kindly bring your Doctor’s referral (should you have one) and any X-rays or scans pertaining to your condition.

5. What should I wear?
Anything comfortable is fine.  We have the option of both private and open rooms to ensure your condition is thoroughly examined and treated discreetly.  If you are coming to see us in regards to a sports injury or one that involves your lower limbs, shorts and a t-shirt are recommended.  We also ask that you bring your running shoes if you are a keen runner.

6. What should I expect at the first consultation?
We will ask you several questions and listen to your reasons for seeking a physiotherapist.  We will then complete a thorough assessment to guide us to an explanation for your symptoms. Finally, we will formulate a treatment plan which will involve some manual treatment, a home exercise program and a future care plan.

7. Where do I park?
Parking is available on site at Forestville Physiotherapy and also across the road at Forestville Shopping Centre. There is undercover parking underneath Coles – entry from Starkey Street.

8. Should I bring my private health card to my consultations?
Yes. We offer our patients the HICAPS facility. This enables us to simply swipe your health fund card through the HICAPS machine and all you need to do is pay the gap fee. The amount of the gap fee varies from health fund to health fund and your level of cover.

9. What is your cancellation policy?
We ask that you provide us with 24 hours notice should you wish to cancel your appointment. This will enable us to contact other patients on our waiting list who may require that time. We do provide an SMS reminder service which is sent one day prior to your appointment.
